2003 Awards were presented to 4 Taupo ladies at a club meeting on 19 June 2003. A fifth awardee was unable to attend and will be presented with her award at a later date. Rotarian John Curtis introduced Vanessa Blyth, a flying instructor with a passion for her career in aviation. While completing her flying hours for full certification she has taken on the role of flying instructor. Rotarian Ron Horsley introduced Manu Witchman, a forecourt attendant at the Shell Taupo service station. Her warm personality and attention to every need set her apart from others in her field. Ingulf Revfeim introduced Pauline Cunningham, who has a wonderful record as a voluntary contributor to many local organisations. Her enthusiastic acceptance of mundane roles in this area enables many groups to function the better as a result of her efforts. Rotarian Bev Draper introduced Carolyn Rushby, a cafe manager. After a term of owning and running the Acacia Bay Motor Camp, Carolyn and her husband moved into town where she found the opportunity to advance her love of fine food. She teamed up with Silver Spoon Caterers and now runs the kitchen at Taste Buds. All of these people go far beyond the normal call of duty to satisfy their clients' needs, and the quality of their work was worthy of recognition by a Rotary Pride of Workmanship Award.
