Introduction Our club is one of many Rotary Clubs in New Zealand that contribute to the pool of Emergency Boxes. Each box contains items worth approximately $400.00. All are unused. From time to time boxes are sent to areas in need of emergency supplies. When this happens a request goes out to Rotary clubs for more Emergency Boxes to replace the ones that have been used. Items for the boxes are purchased from local businesses or are donated. Funding is from Club member donations and fund raising activities. Every Emergency Box contains the following items:- ( Look - all this fits into a box only slightly bigger than a council recycling bin! ) Houseware: Medium Sized Billy 4 Unbreakable Soup Bowls 4 Unbreakable Cups 2 x 2 Gal Buckets with Lids 1 Can Opener Miscellaneous: Packet of Candles Water Proof Matches Packet of Safety Pins Ball of String 2 Rope Clothes Lines and Clothes Pegs (5mm OD x 20m Long) 2 Rolls Insulation Tapes 2 Plastic Sheets approx. 2.4 2 Blankets Clothes: Man 2 Pairs of Shorts 2 t shirts Woman 2 sets of Underwear 2 Dresses Boys 2 Pairs Shorts 2 T Shirts Girls 2 sets of Underwear 2 Pairs Shorts 2 T Shirts Babies 6 Nappies 2 Vests 2 Night Dresses 6-8 Meters Cotton/Polyester Plain Cloth (Dress Fabric) Tools: Small Folding Shovel or Trenching Tool Hatchet or Machete Hammer Pliers Assorted Nails (75mm & 100mm Screws and Roofing Nails) Approx. 10 Metres Wire (16 Gauge) 2 Fishing Lines, Hooks and Sinkers Garden Wire (Binding) Toiletries & Medical: 2 Large Towels 6 Large Bars of Sunlight or Similar Soap Rolled Waterproof Sticking Plaster Rolled Dressing Strip 5cm Gauze Bandage 1 Tube of Antiseptic Cream Water Treatment Tablets
