NYSF Student selected for International Program

Needham, our National Youth Science Forum student from last year was
selected to attend the International program in South Africa in June -

Beneficiaries
All
funds raised by the Rotary Club of Hurstville are directed towards
community groups and youth who will become the leaders of tomorrow. For

This year our major fundraising project will be "The
St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation", which raises
money
for research at St George and Sutherland Hospitals.

We will continue to support

The
23rd World Festival of Magic Show
Sponsored
by the Rotary Club of Hurstville in
conjunction with International Entertainment it is a major
fundraising project for the benefit
of Families and Children with disabilities of any nature. This has been
a major project for the Rotary Club of Hurstville since 2001.

The
World Festival of Magic
Date: Monday 14th November
Location: Sutherland Entertainment Centre, Sutherland.
Michael Boyd and the cast of the Magic show put on an excellent show
for the children and families attending on Sunday. Many thanks to all
the community businesses that supported this show and provided tickets
for disadvantaged children carers, and families.
The Show
was performed and was greatly appreciated by the audience. We
have received some thankyou emails from happy parents. We gratefully
thank all businesses who donated the funds for the tickets we
distibuted to disadvantaged families.
Beneficiaries for 2011 -
2012:
St George Hospital wishlist requests are updated each year
from:
- Delivery Suite
- Maternity
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Pathology
Last year funds raised fell
well short of the $33000 on the list.
What we can purchase depends
on our revenue.
Other Community
charities we wish to fund from our fundraising projects
include:
- Anaphylactic Association
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Hydrocephalus Association
- Local Special Purpose Schools
- Oatley Caring Centre
- St George Prostate Association
- Sunnyhaven
- Student awards in local
schools and TAFE
This would add several more
thousand dollars.

DisasterAid Australia replaced ShelterBox for disaster events from June
1st 2010 and has established a joint operation with DisasterAid Canada
and DisasterAid USA. This will effectively lower costs and open other
options:

streets and the Westfield Centre is a short walk away.

interesting items to see or buy including:
Antique Furniture, Jewellery, Fine China,
Porcelain, Tools, Glassware, Linen and
much, much more.
Royal Doulton Australia have also donated Winter Festival, one of a
limited edition of 250. It is part of a new series by sculptor Adrian
Hughes, inspired by the work of Alphonse Mucha, with a landmark
collection including spring, summer and autumn examples. This
collection is bound to become a favourite for Doulton collectors. The
first prize winner of the raffle takes home this valuable Royal Doulton
figurine. Second prize is a handcrafte quilt by Carole wright whose
most recent quilt sold for $700. In addition there are more items
donated, including a Royal Doulton jug, and other items for
the silent auction.
A huge range of Royal Doulton Figurines,
Plates, Toby Jugs, Bunnykins etc.
Everything for the discerning Collector.
Something for that very special gift.
