The Rotary Club of Wollundry Wagga Wagga held their 2000 changeover of executive officers on Tuesday the 27th of June, 2000 at the Commercial Club.

The summer school string quartet provided a gracious atmosphere to greet our guests and members. Special guests included Past District Governor Nevin and Verona Hughes, Mayor Kevin and Gwen Wales and District Governor Ray King.

PDG Nevin presented President Kevin Watts with Presidential Citation from RI President and himself for Kevin’s leadership in achieving the wide range of targets proposed to presidents at the commencement of the Rotary year. – well done Kevin.

President Kevin then read a citation which highlighted the willingness to undertake any and all tasks to the extent a little neck wringing was occasionally called for and cited a list of achievements which warranted the presentation to Rick Priest of the Paul Harris Saphire Pin. Rick responded in humble tone expressing enjoyment in what rotary stands for and explaining that he does it because he loves it.

President Kevin Watts reported on the accomplishments of the year and handed over the Presidency to John Smith. John introduced his officers for 2000/2001. They included John Flynn (Youth Director), David Byfield (Community Services Director), John Waring (International Director), Col Duff (Treasurer) Pat Ingram (Club Services Director), Bill Rogers (Vocational Director) James Hamilton (Secretary), and President Elect Gordon Braid.
