GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE

What is GSE?GSE from Philippines
The Group Study Exchange (GSE) program of The Rotary Foundation is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women 25 to 40 years of age and early in their professional lives. GSE provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries. For approximately four weeks, team members experience the host country's institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships and exchange ideas.
For each team member (including the Team Leader), The Rotary Foundation provides the most economical round-trip air ticket between the home and host countries. Local Rotarians in the host area provide for meals, lodging and group travel within their district. More details are available on the Rotaryt International GSE web site.

Expression of Interest from Clubs to host a GSE Team
It is a great opportunity for Clubs to experience a wonderful Rotary Foundation program. Each host Club needs to arrange a program of activities over a 3-5 day period that gives the visiting team a unique insight into Rotary in action in your town, with Club fellowship, vocational, cultural and tourist activities. The Club will need to provide 5-6 host families, transport for the team while they are being hosted and an opportunity for the Team to make a presentation at the regular Club meeting. The more involvement of Club members in vocational and civic visits and
informal social activities the better – hosting can be a great experience for individuals and Clubs as well as the visiting Team with many making lifelong friendships.

Eligibility Criteria for the GSE Team Leader include:
• experienced Rotarian
• willing and able, physically and mentally, to keep pace with the GSE
• not be accompanied by spouse, companion or other relative

Eligibility Criteria for the GSE Team Member include:
• not be a Rotarian, married to or close relative of a Rotarian
• between 25 to 40 years of age and working in business or profession for 2 years
• ability and commitment to represent Rotary and Australia as a GSE Team member
