Rotary Club of Strathfield
President's Blueprint
Wednesday 11 July 2007
Thank you to my Board Members for last week’s informative presentations of the projects to be carried out this Rotary year.
Thanks also to Rotarian Tony Brown for a most interesting talk on his time in the motor industry.
Janet and I are looking forward to the arrival of Laura Fleurquin, our exchange student. Hopefully Laura will be able to, after settling in, attend our meeting on 11/7
If Rotarians wish to take Laura out for a daytrip or the like, please contact either Janet or myself to arrange.
For those who have not yet completed the Child Protection forms would you please contact Bradley Ayres. Bradley will inform you of the necessity, and provide you with a form.
As you are aware the role of mentor is to assist new Rotarians in settling into the club, and to advise them of protocol, etc. (information that used to be made known via the “fire-side chat” approach previously used). I would ask that mentors contact their nominated new Rotarians and help them along the way.
You will be pleased to know that the site works for the “hands on” project at the Studdy MS Centre has begun. Niall King and I have carried out set-out work to prepare for excavation to take place. I suppose you could say “the first blow was struck” on 7/7/07. It’s now full steam ahead. Niall will inform us when he needs Rotarians assistance on the project. Just a reminder that any donations are tax deductible.
Remember “Service Above Self”.
President Brian
