Pacific Area Newspaper Publisher’s Association Newspaper of the Year.
Congratulations Belinda Noonan who is a great supporter of Strathfield
Rotary. PM Kevin Rudd will be the keynote speaker on the awards night on
the Gold Coast on Sept 10th.

UNITY WALK in aid of
Parkinson's NSW
On Sunday August 31st
2008, people with Parkinson’s and their families and friends took the
“Olympic Walk” around all the magnificent sporting stadiums at Sydney
Olympic Park. Over 1000 people participated in walk and many thousands of
dollars were raised for research into the causes of Parkinson's disease.
PP Steve Taylor
wishes to sincerely thank the club for its $200 donation to this event,
and the individual contributions and attendance at the walk of Keith
Stockall, Ann and Ray McCluskie, Jan and Roger Vince, Kevin and Suzanne
Freund, Kevin Beltrame and Karen Catalano, Josh and Rebecca True, and
last but not least Alan and Adrienne Taylor with daughter Kate and
grandson Allesandro.

BOOLIGAL Sheep Races

The town of Booligal
has invited our service Club to their 11th annual annual Booligal Sheep
Races to be held on Saturday 18 October 2008 The sheep races are the
town's major yearly fundraiser.
It is a family day on the lawns on the Booligal cricket ground. BBQ and
canteen are available, BYO grog, sheep races merchandise for sale an "on
the day" raffle and free children's activities.
Made famous by Banjo
Patterson's poem `Hay
and Hell and Booligal` (click to read), the village of Booligal, 80
km north of Hay in NSW, is a small cluster of houses on the tree-lined
Lachlan River.

PRESIDENT ELECTRIC'S LINES
Because our new
President
Grahame True is an electrician he is affectionately known as President
Electric. President Grahame provides a weekly message called "President
Electric's Lines".
The "Lines" summarises the Clubs activities over the preceding week and
highlights issues to be drawn to members attention.

combined August and January instalments, of $314.00, now to save the

We have also negotiated an early bird booking concession – for the first
18 to book the Grand Mercure will give double booking a complimentary
upgrade to their Superior Rooms (which are normally worth an extra $40
per night. This is subject to availability on receipt of a confirmed
rooming list).
