District 9690ROTARY PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH |

Do you want to reward a young person for their contribution to the community?
|
ROYA is a competition whereby the overall contribution by students to the welfare and service of their local and extended community is recognised. It is divided into a Junior section for ages 13-16 and a Senior section for ages 17-19. Students are asked to complete an entry form explaining their interests and achievements, as well as being interviewed by a panel of judges. While the efforts of all entrants are rewarded with a certificate, a perpetual trophy is awarded to each winner, which can be displayed in their school for a year. Schools and community groups can nominate students, as can a Rotary Club. Nominators, school and community representatives, family and friends of the awardees are invited to the presentation night (generally held in September) where some of the students perform and the awards are given out. |
