Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA)

Rotary Clubs, in conjunction with local high schools, sponsor teams of students to attend a simulation of the United Nations Assembly. The aim is to build peace, goodwill and understanding as students debate current world issues from the viewpoint of the country they adopt to represent. Rules of debate as used at the real United Nations are employed. Teams dress in national costumes and research the issues to be debated thoroughly before attendance at the two day weekend event. A social event such as a formal dinner is held on the Saturday night.
