The Rotary Market

The Rotary growers market is held at Glenbrook school on the 3rd Saturday in the month.

It was instigated by Ken Linfoot during his year as President of the club and has proved successful from all points of view - a win win for everyone and a good money spinner for the club. Valerie and Keith Hawkins are now market managers. Visit the website at http://glenbrookrotarymarkets.com.au

The Markets at Glenbrook have been running now for 5 years. Thank you once again to all of our members and friends who have helped make the Markets such a success..   We have grown from a start with about 25 stall holders to more than 100, sometimes up to 140 booked in for most markets.

Gross rental fees can be just under $4,000 per month - a remarkable achievement .
The Glenbrook School on whose property we hold the market, also benefits to the tune of 25% of the net. A sum of money that makes a difference to this little school.

Expenses for this venture include regular advertising, phone and email costs, some printing and insurance.

Over the last 5 years, we must have raised somewhere like $50,000 to $60,000 (net). We have enjoyed some good fellowship along the way. And importantly, the Markets operation has also resulted in a number of people visiting and joining our Club. It all helps.

After 5 years or taking care of the market, Ken has moved on and Valerie and Keith Hawkin have taken over.

Thank you all once all of the help in promoting, setting up, running the barbecue and all of the other tasks involved in making the Glenbrook Rotary Markets such a success.
