Fashion, Body Shop & Socks

These three projects were - and as required, will continue to be - organised by Susan Wakefield.
Susan spends a lot of time raising funds through her projects and we thank her for that.

The Fashion Parade was held in October and raised funds for PACE program run by Deepa Willingham in India. It is a literacy project for poor girls aimed at lifting the level of literacy among girls thus ensuring that the literacy level in future generations is raised.

The Body Shop at Home Party was to support a Girls Hostel also in India. This hostel provides girls with a safe home and an education and hopefully ensures that they will not be sold into the sex slave by their fathers. ( How some children have to live is scary)

The Sock Project was in answer to Julia Reid's (DGs partner for D9690 year 200-9-10) request that we provide black or navy blue schools socks for the students at the School of St Jude in Tanzania. We collected over 100 pairs of socks and some money from those members who didn't remember to buy socks. The money went to assist with the sending of the socks to Africa.
