Rotary Club of the Lower Blue Mountains

‘6 of our members and partners attended the Cobar Rotary Club’s Billy Can Bash over the long weekend and represented our club, Ken & Janina, Drew & Caroline, John & Jan. We travelled some 1400 klms from Cobar, to Bourke, Enngonia, Yantabulla, Hungerford, Kilcowra in Qld, Wanaaring, Tilpa and back to Cobar. The bash was attended by some 49 happy four wheel drivers and raised a considerable sum of money which we donated to the various towns we visited to help with some of their much needed items. The nightly ‘auctions’ saw our club raise $410 towards the bash, John auctioning off gnomes, hats, books, a painting, apron and RDU hats, our thanks to all who donated them. The camaraderie amongst all who attended was fantastic, some coming from Victoria, Barossa Valley,Cobar, Cowra, Wagga, Gerringong, Singleton, Inner Sydney, The Hills and of course Lower Blue, we would all recommend this weekend to other members next year to share in the fun and spirit of service with others, and to help fellow Australians in much needed areas.
