Welcome to the new year of Rotary Service in the Rotary Club of Blacktown

City and in this year of 2008 . 2009 we have been challenged to make

dreams real. Our Rotary International President D K Lee has acknowledged

that at Club level we serve our community with the many services we provide

from catering for local events to raising funds for the Rotary foundation and

Research. By networking with other clubs we are capable of projects with a

greater reach.

D K Lee went on to say when choosing our projects we do our best to work in ways that will

have the most positive and most lasting impact. But to ensure a better world for many generations,

we must begin by taking care of our youngest generation. This is why, in 2008 .

2009, he has asked us to focus on the most precious resource of every community; our children.

D K Lee has set the theme for 2008 - 2009 as .Make Dreams Real.. Food and water, health

care and schooling, the chance at a long and full life . this is the unrealised dream of too

many children. In 2008 . 2009 he asks that we join him to make dreams real for these children

and their families and help the Rotary dream of a happier, healthier, and more peaceful

world.
