- PENNY SEAR was sponsored by Sawtell Club to Indonesia. She was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship by the District at the Conference for her bravery and level headedness in reviving a fellow student.
- Two overseas students LISE LOSCH from Austria and SIMON BUHLMAN from Switzerland stayed briefly with us before returning home.

- A team from Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia was hosted by the club.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Melbourne Cup trifecta tickets.
- Garden Party at Glen Cush, home of Ray & Glad Jones.
- Manure sales.
- A joint scheme to establish a lookout/rest area on Thunderbolt’s Way with Walcha club initiated a Heritage Fund Grant which was applied for and was successful in securing a $20,000 grant.

- Exchange with McKellar High School again held.
GENERAL
- Rotary D9650 divided into designated areas and Assistant District Governors appointed to these areas.
PROJECTS
- Official opening of TED WOOLFORD MEMORIAL PARK.
- Supported the “Back to Giro” day with the B.B.Q. and drinks. Conducted duck races on the Barnard River raising considerable money for the Narraweema Appeal.
- Vocational ServiceAwards re-introduced at a very successful presentation night.
- Some club members took part in a district friendship exchange visit to Turkey.
- Joined with the Rotary Club of Wingham to support the application for a Rotary Foundation Matching Grant with the Rotary Club of Poona South, India for provision of computers in their school.
- Club donation of $5000 to Narraweema Wing Trust.
SOCIAL
- Club trip to “Riverdance” at the Newcastle entertainment centre.
- Parramatta, Wingham and Walcha combined gatherings.
1996/1997

- Assisted in the construction of half basketball court at the Gloucester Youth Centre.
- CRAIG MOORE attended the NATIONAL YOUTH SCIENCE FORUM in Canberra.
- ANDREW FARLEY attended a Youth Forum at N.A.S.A. headquarters U.S.A.

- Two teams attended accompanied by MALCOLM McFARLANE, PAT and BILL RADFORD.

- Under the Chairmanship of BRIAN and HEATHER BEESLEY was again very successful.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Rest area adjacent to the Country Club almost completed and to be named the TED WOOLFORD MEMORIAL PARK to honour our late distinguished member.
- Club initiated and helped to form a combined committee with other service organizations to raise money for the upgrade of the NARAWEEMA NURSING HOME.
- Catering trailer built and permit obtained from the Forestry to sell hot food at Barrington Tops during snow season.
SOCIAL
- Day at the Croquet Club.
- Trip to Stratford coal mine for members and partners followed by a B.B.Q.
- Parramatta exchange visit.
- Combined dinner with Walcha Club at Nowendoc.
- Combined dinner with Wingham Club at Krambach.
- Combined Service Club Dinner hosted by Rotary.
- ERIC BARLOW was chosen as a G.S.E. team member to visit Sweden.
- A very successful INTERNATIONAL NIGHT was organised by members and attended by the acting Australian Ambassador to Argentina.
- Supported Bicycle Safety Ride.

- Commenced work on the rest area opposite the Country Club.
- Organised the run leg of the Mountain Man Triathlon.
- Manned a float to celebrate “Victory Pacific Day”.
- Ran very successful Melbourne Cup Trifecta as fund raiser.
- Continued CPR mask project.
- Advocate/Rotary Sportsman award.
- Sold Easter breakfast and evening meal at Gloucester Caravan Park.

- Three year nine students attended PACIFIC POWER SCIENCE SCHOOL in Newcastle.
- BEN ENGLISH attended NATIONAL ENGINEERING SUMMER SCHOOL.
- Some financial assistance given to MARYANNE GERMON, National Girls’ Cricket Team to England
and AARON HEMMERLE to World Canoing Championships in Austria.
- Junior Show again sponsored.
- Support given to Young Achievers scheme sponsored by local A.C.F. company.
- Exchange arranged again with Wahroonga Rotary Club.
- The club also sponsored a year’s education for a young Indonesian girl.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Organised and supported the family bike ride to Barrington.
- The club undertook a major project called “Breathing Life in Australia” and obtained sole national rights to sell the Laderle Pocket CPR masks. The proceeds go to the Rotary Health Research Fund and the Club.
- Supported Gloucester Art Show.
- Support for Mountain Man Triathlon and Country Mile Athletics Carnival.
- Combined Service Clubs family day and renting sound equipment to various organizations.
- Funding for local and Rotary projects totalled over $8000.
- Club supported Rotary (Aust.) initiative “Employ Australia”, watching the national telecasts on a video taken from a special “SKY channel hook-up.
- Friendship exchange with Parramatta Rotary Club.

The Club mourned the passing of Darcy Hopkins.

- Club was supported by the Gloucester Public and High Schools in the collection of library books for Tonga.
- Melbourne Cup Sweep organised for first time.

EVENTS
- The first Fellowship Rotary Automobile Tour (F.A.R.T.) devised by DAVID and YVONNE LAWRIE took place visiting Walcha and Quirindi Rotary Clubs.
- Club celebrated DON McRAE’S 80th Birthday with cake and trimmings.
- 14 members were involved in the production of toy trucks distributed by the hospital to needy children for Christmas.
- Club took part in the Billycart Derby against other community organizations.
FAIM
KEITH LATHAM went to the Solomons to assist in building a school.
BERT CUSHWAY went to Western Samoa on a similar project.
The Club mourned the passing of P.P. and P.H.F. Ted Woolford.

- Gloucester Junior Show and Youth Cultural Camp sponsored.
- Club involved in Triathlon and athletics carnival.
- $13000 dispersed to various community and Rotary bodies.
- Vocational Youth Exchange Program between Gloucester and Wahroonga Clubs initiated. Six students form each club treated to an enjoyable week of learning and experience in each others area.
- Although plans for the drainage project at the High School were not brought to fruition in this rotary year, success in gaining Area Assistance Scheme Funding of $6444.00 should see this occur early in the next year.
1990/1991

MAJOR PROJECTS.
- Largest venture for the year was the art show run in conjunction with the Gloucester Art Society. Rotarian PETER ST CLAIR GROTH was principal organiser, several thousand dollars raised.
- Mime show organised by RON WEST raised $900.
