The Stallman Family has given generous support to the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

Students from Belgium, Indonesia, Brazil, Canada and  Sweden
have shared the experience of the wide open spaces of Australia,
with a visit to the farm at Condamine, Queensland.

Death of Megan Stallman in tragic accident

The heartfelt sympathy of the Club goes to PDG Ken and Betty Smith, the  Stallman
family and other loved ones in the tragic death of Megan in a vehicle accident near
Condamine on 2 October 2002.

Megan was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was sponsored by Coomera Valley
Rotary Club as an exchange student to Japan in 2000. This exchange followed a year in
Belgium by her sister Kelly in 1998. Her grandfather, PDG Ken Smith, is a highly respected
Rotarian and a member of the Parkwood Rotary Club.

We all deeply grieve the tragic loss of such a beautiful young lady who had so much
to live for. She had all the attributes of her family with the highest standards of character,
citizenship and service. It is very sad that her life was prematurely terminated.

May God's blessing be with Megan's family as they acknowledge her accomplishments
and find the strength to accept her passing.

(Note by Ken Alderton: The funeral service held on 8 October was beyond belief. What
must be the largest Church in Toowoomba was absolutely jam packed and the eulogies
delivered by Megan's friends, her mother and sister and a representative of Coomera Valley
Rotary Club and the feeling they generated in the audience were indicative of the

impact that Megan made on people.
