International Friendship Tour of China 04-20 September 2010 Copy of message received by Anne and John Tunnicliff: 19 February 2010 Following our two successful R I Friendship Tours to China in 2009, we are happy to present our R I Friendship Tour to China for 2010. We are aware, that for a number of reasons, several of our Rotary friends were not able to join our two groups which visited China last year. For those who missed the boat, this is another opportunity to visit this fascinating destination. This tour is very slightly shorter than last year's, but all the major highlights and Rotary contacts are still included. While still retaining the high quality of accommodation and touring, we have managed to keep the price affordable. This tour offers excellent value for money. An opportunity to extend your stay in the fabulous city of Shanghai after the tour to visit the World Expo is a huge added bonus, as this exhibition, like all mega projects undertaken by China, is likely to be a mind blowing experience. The site of the Expo is on the Bund, which is close to our hotel. More details will be found in the itinerary. There is also an opportunity of an add-on package to Tibet. Please bring this Rotary project to the notice of your club members and to those of you who have already visited China with us, please encourage others to join us. We are sure they will enjoy this destination as much as everyone did last year. Best regards James PP
JAMES PANNELL R I Friendship Tour of South Africa No 34 – Nov 2010 Over 20 years ago, in 1990, we were working on Tour Number 8, which was the first Friendship Tour organised by Louise and myself. Unbelievably, we are now introducing you to our club’s 34th South African Rotary International Friendship Tour. What a thrill it was to have Alan and Patti Hougen, who participated in that very first tour, as well as several later tours, join us again in China last year. On the China Friendship Tours, we also had a number of old friends who had toured with us before, both in South Africa and abroad. What wonderful friends we have made through Rotary. Thank you to all those Rotarians who have supported this club project over so many years. After exhaustive research, we have now organised what we consider to be one of the best and most exciting tour of South Africa that we have arranged to date. Many aspects of the itinerary are different from previous tours. At $200 a day, this Friendship Tour is very well priced. Please bring along some friends and enjoy Rotary fellowship and fun in the sun, while the northern hemisphere has the November shivers. We would also appreciate you circulating details of this tour amongst your club members and Rotary friends. Attached, please find the tour itinerary. This will probably be the last R I Friendship tour of South Africa that Louise and I will be organising, so we would be delighted to welcome as many old and also new friends as possible. Yours in Rotary James
