Susan Tyrrell - born in Gippsland, Victoria - raised and educated in Finley NSW, the daughter of dairy farmers. Began career as a Cadet Journalist in 1981 on the Southern Riverina News, moving to Melbourne later that year, then to Sydney in 1985.

Started Tyrrell Publishing in Milsons Point, Sydney in 1988 - Susan ran her small business for several years, only selling when first daughter, Jasmine, was born in 1991. Emily was born in 1993 and Susan and (then) husband developed and ran Hookes Creek Forest Resort in the Barrington Tops - opening December 1993 and selling in November 1998. Hookes Creek featured on Getaway, Great Outdoors and Sydney Weekender over the years.

Another complex - The Great Escape Lofts - was opened in Gloucester in 1999 and Escape Cafe the same year. Susan also produced the full colour Escape Magazine - marketing tourism in the local area. She was also on Gloucester Shire Council Tourism Board for 7 years.

At the end of 2000 Susan and her family moved to the Gold Coast to take advantage of a choice of schools for their two young daughters. Susan obtained her full real estate licence in 2001 and started Dingorealty the same year.

Susan sold Dingorealty in January 2010 after nine busy years and has returned to the publishing and communications world, currently as Editor & Business Development Manager for Travelling in Australia Magazine published by Morrison Media.

Susan lives locally with long time partner John Urwin and youngest daughter Emily, currently studying Fashion Design at TAFE. Her older daughter Jasmine is now living in Brisbane while attending the University of Queensland.

Susan joined the Rotary Club of Parkwood in 2006.
