The School of St Jude
Fighting Poverty through Education

Hi everyone!

Aussie Tour:

Now that our two campuses are back into the swing of the academic year and the 170 new students are settled in to their class routine, I can now focus on the rest of the year and an event I am really excited about – my promotional tour of Australia this coming May.    .

I really missed not coming home to see you all last year but with the opening of Usa River campus and the boarding houses and the arrival of the great joy of the Sisia family, Isabella, it was a pretty packed year! So, during May I will be dropping in to each capital city and regional centre to catch up with as many old friends as possible and pack in as many speaking engagements as you can organise! The new DVD of the school will be out by then and I’ll be looking forward to giving sneak previews and giving them to everyone who comes along.

If you are willing and able to help me by organising an event or joining a committee to run one, I would be grateful if you would let me know as soon as possible so I can start planning the itinerary. I’m really looking forward to telling you about our new students who are on the first rung of the ladder to becoming the future intelligent, ethical and forward thinking leaders of Tanzania, and the great teachers who are giving them the good grounding for this.

Friends of St Jude’s:

It’s great that so many of you have contacted Alex, our cheery ‘Friends’ coordinator. The number of people who know of St Jude’s is growing all over the world thanks to the help of Alex and our loyal sponsors who are doing an amazing job spreading the word through our Friends of St Jude’s initiative.  Enjoy the January Friends newsletter with stories of the latest events!

July Tour:

There are only a few seats left on the July tour group so get in quickly as bookings are done on a ‘first in first served’ basis.

Video footage:

If any of you have some clear video footage of the construction of the school or just general footage that you may have taken on your visits we would be grateful if we could use some in the new DVD that is being made of the school. Please let me know as soon as possible.

I look forward to seeing you and your friends in May!

Thanks, Gemma
