The Countdown is Over!!
Yes that's right! RYTS 2010 has finally arrived!
The RYTS Team had our final meeting in Glen Innes
at the home of our awesome Chairman Ken Barker. We
all enjoyed the 6hr bus trip down.. a good bonding
experience for us!
Now it's finally rolled around. Tomorrow - the 4th
December - there will be 62 kids turning up to
experience the wonderful week we have planned for
them.
With the addition of an International Speaker
joining our list of Guest Speakers, the RYTS week is
set to be one of the best.
Our hard working team is heading up to Bornhoffen
tonight to set up before the excitement starts
tomorrow. Let's just hope the rain lets up a bit for
us!!
A huge Thankyou to all the Rotary Clubs who have
sponsored students within the area. We really
appreciate your support and I know the students will
too by the end of the week!
We hope to see some of you at our Rotary Dinner on
Tuesday the 7th December at 6pm. Cost is $15 and
will include dinner, great company and some
lighthearted entertainment!
Hope to see you there!!

Hi all Youth Directors, the RYTS team is flat out organizing
this years camp.
A big thank you to all clubs who have got their application forms
and cheques to me already
.
Many more have been in touch and their kids are being organized.
A number of clubs are having trouble finding kids, but have agreed
to sponsor kids from other areas,
Thank you to these clubs,I will make sure the kids they sponsor get
in touch.
We are still taking applications,so it's not too late to nominate a
kid, appl. forms and info can be found on the district web site.
Many of our kids come from RYPEN and go on to RYLA.
You can take part in the annual RYTS get fit campaign,WALK,RUN OR
CYCLE. to your local Post Office ,and post your application forms
a.s.a.p.
I would like to share a story with you from RYTS,at the end of camp
last year,a young lad,[18],said he had been raised by his single
mother, and
without a Father figure life had been tough.he had
learnt so much from RYTS,and now realized how hard it had been for
his Mum,and how much
he needed to say sorry to his Mum. When his Mum
came to pick him up. She got a big hug and a very
emotional apology for his past behaviour and big thankyou for what
she had done for him over the years!!!
looking forward to hearing from you,
Ken Barker chairman RYTS
