Peace Fellows
(Extract from District
Governor's Newsletter December 2009)
Our District can be proud that we have two successful applicants to
undertake studies as part of the Rotary Centres for International
Studies in peace and conflict resolution program.
Georgia Harley, who was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Coomera River
Midday, has been selected to study the two year Master’s Degree at Duke
University in San Francisco,
commencing in July 2010.
Victoria Anderson will attend the three month professional development
course at the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok in January. Victoria
or “Tori”, was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Southport.
Congratulations to both ladies and our interviewing committee,
especially Chairperson Deborah Ralf, for this truly fabulous result.
Applications for next
year’s intake should be with the District before the end of April, if
Clubs have other worthy potential Peace Fellows.
(Doug Brown, District Chair, Rotary Foundation)
