Christmas Party 2010
Christmas 2010
Our hosts, Noel and Margaret,
with President Paul O'Neill

Members of the Club are indebted to Noel and Margaret for making their home available and going to much trouble to ensure that
we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas party with a difference on 18 December 2010.

Noel and Margaret had cooked the beef and lamb shanks with hangi style cooking in their garden. In traditional hangi cooking, meat and vegetables
cook in a hole dug in the ground. Placed on hot stones at the bottom of the hole, the food is covered with cloth and a mound of earth trapping the
 heat around the food.

The New Zealand influence was introduced with a Maori haka by Doug Thomas and John Tunnicliff, then the traditional rubbing of noses by everyone,
followed by Noel unearthing the food from a hole in the garden.

The above combined with an excellent variety of food and some good fellowship and fun ensured that everyone had a most enjoyable time.

Nerine Cummins and President Paul had their cameras and the great pictures they captured can be seen as follows:

Thank you Nerine and Paul for helping us to share the occasion through your photos.

A special word of thanks and appreciation to Maria O'Neill for her very delicious sweets.

President Paul on behalf of members made a presentation of a basket of goodies to Noel and Margaret in appreciation of their efforts to achieve
an outstanding and memorable Christmas party for the club.

Paul concluded by extending best wishes to everyone for Christmas and the New Year.
