REPORT
The trivia night was most successful. It was very well organised by Mark and Jan Kent and helpers .
There were lots of winners/raffles and prizes and the questions had everyone concentrating and guessing.
The  atmosphere was intense. It was nice to welcome members of the Runaway Bay Rotary Club to join in the fun with us.
The Tom Cat and Four Pussy team scooped the pool with funniest /worst name and also winning the trivia section,
the members were Dorothy and Graham Thomas, Charmaine White, Sue le Cornu and Hilli Reaburn (Top left hand photo)
There were 65 people present. During the meeting of 24 November 2009
PP Mark announced that the sum of $1,350 had been raised for the Bald and Beautiful Day at the Trivia Night.
Also Mark took the opportunity of thanking Teresa and Allan Dawson for their generous donation of raffle prizes.
As well a big thank you to John Urwin who donated 6 large baskets of Xmas goodies to supplement fund raising
by the conduct of a second raffle.

(Thanks to President John Tunnicliff for the photos - John asks that we allow for the fact that the photos were taken by phone)

Meeting Notes (17/11/09)
*The meeting was combined with the Rotary Club of Parkwood, held at the Parkwood
venue, Runaway Bay Retirement Village. The evening was a Trivia Night with
proceeds going to Movember (Prostate Cancer and Men’s Health Problems) and
Bald and Beautiful Day (Men and Women with Cancer). Bald and Beautiful is a day of Fun,
Pampering and Wellbeing for adults – Men and Women – with Cancer, held annually in
Newcastle in May of each year. History Bald and Beautiful Founder, Judith Taylor
was helping her mother through her own cancer journey in Newcastle. During
regular visits to the Mater Hospital, Judith recognised that while patients were
receiving great care from a medical perspective, there was a gap in terms of
well being. Often feeling isolated and unwell, Cancer patients then have to deal
with the experience of hair loss. Based on the concept of Camp Quality for
children and Canteen for Teens, it was decided that adults also need Fun,
Pampering and Wellbeing. Bald and Beautiful Day was born in Newcastle in
May 2005 with a small team of pampering therapists and entertainers. The day was
made possible by the generosity of the community, with their services, their time,
their products, their skills and their gifts.

Since 2006, the Rotary Club of Newcastle Sunrise has championed the event with planning, event participation, and ongoing financial support.
Bald and Beautiful Day:
Fun - Magic, Music, Singing, Dancing
Pampering - Manicures, Pedicures, Facials, Makeup, Massage, Hairdressing, Wigs
