BALD AND BEAUTIFUL DAY  4 MAY 2011

A Bald and Beautiful Day will be held on
May 4 at the Southport Sharks for those touched by cancer. For some, it's close and personal while, for others it may be a neighbour , workmate of friend.
The Rotary Club of Parkwood has been touched. Three members and at least one partner are cancer survivors and another member is undergoing the difficulties of watching his partner deal with treatment and pain.  In 2010, Past President and cancer survivor Mark Kent,
 through Parkwood Rotary, organised and ran the Gold Coast's first Bald and Beautiful Day - designed as a day of fun and pampering for those in remission or undergoing treatment for cancer.

 

   Attendees said is was wonderful to talk with people in a similar situation and to realise they were not on their own.
Many also enjoyed the opportunity to give support. Reach out to someone you know who has been touched by cancer and tell them about the day on May 4 at Southport Sharks.
Guests are encouraged to bring a friend or carer to enjoy the day with them.  It runs from 10am to 2pm and includes morning tea and lunch, with raffles and prize draws.
