The discerning art collector and investor had the opportunity to purchase original art works by local artists with international reputations. This is now established as a continuing fund raising event. The Art Show is being held annually at Centenary Picture Framing & Gallery, Shop 29 Homemaker City, 180 Sinnamon Rd, Jindalee. The funds raised assist the Wesley Hospital, Rotary BeefBank, Romac, Shelter box and Polio Plus

Community Project - erection of Park shelter sheds

In partnership with the Brisbane City Council, the Club was able to construct some much needed park shelters in a local park to be opened shortly. The project was a Rotary Centennial Project to recognize the birthday of Rotary, some 100 years ago in February 1905. This initially involved members in the process of fund raising through functions and sponsor donations. Construction and erection of the shed was accomplished with several member's working bees. Our members gained great satisfaction with the hands on involvement in a community project and the fellowship that followed. We are continuing with activities in this park. Arrangements are currently underway to be involved with the planting of trees in the park to assist with the reforestation of the park. Again, this is part of our contribution to Rotary's Centenary celebrations.

This project has extended over many years with some 3 shelter sheds being erected. In addition members have erected a number of seats in the park and on the Mount Ommaney river walk way. Examples of project activity includes
