The Rotary Club of Irymple is active in the Sunraysia Community and beyond
with a number of very exciting and challenging Projects.
- The Avenue of Trees
-
The Club has been active since 1996
on its Airport Avenue of Trees. It has planted and maintained the carob trees
and shrubs along the 1.5 km stretch of Walnut Avenue leading to the entrance of
the Mildura Airport.
-
There are 400 trees in the avenue. The Club has installed a drip watering
system and over 400 cubic metres of mulch. It has laid 2.4 kms of underground
irrigation pipe.
-
This coming year there are plans for a further 800 cubic metres of mulch and
extensive extension of the watering system
- The RAAF Memorial Gardens
-
The Club is participating in an
exciting and substantial project to erect a memorial near the RAAF Museum at the Mildura
Airport to commemorate the personnel killed in training in Mildura.
-
The project is a natural compliment to the Rotary Avenue of Trees.
