Farewell Ted!
We
were all greatly saddened by news of the death of a much respected Rotarian Ted Crane as we were meeting on Tuesday, 28th June.
Ted was inducted on 28th November 1978 and was a
past-President and a Paul Harris Fellow.
Ted was
awarded an Australia medal for his service to the State Emergency Service, the
Army Reserve and the Community.
Most of all he was a gentle person and a tireless worker
for a good cause. He exemplified the theme of Rotary “Service Above Self”.
Our Club motto "By their fruits you shall know them" could
have been written for Ted. Even now in his absence we are discovering examples
of his good works that he carried out quietly and without fanfare.
Ted has struggled with ill health for a long time and he is
a great loss to this club and this community.
We extend our condolences to Eleanor and his family.
