USING
THE SHADEHOUSE
The
growing process consists of four stages:
|
| |
|
•
|
Germination
- This can best be achieved in the shadehouse in the warmer
months between October to March. At other times some form of
artificial propagation aids will be required, i.e. polyhouse
or heating bed. |
|
•
|
Growing
On - Your seedlings need sufficient water to keep them moist
but not wet and the addition of fertilser from time to time. |
|
•
|
Initial
hardening off - During this stage the plants have to start getting
used to the sun. |
|
•
|
Final
hardening off - This stage is where the plants need to be in
as much sun as possible. This is to reduce the shock to the
plants from the change in conditions between the protected shadehouse
environment and field conditions. |
