Welcome to the "Trees for Survival" web site.

If you are unsure what to view, visit the site map, where you will find a list of the contents of the whole site and links to each section, and each page within each section..

Most links within this site are from buttons, arrows, and where suitable, underlined text.

Explanatory text is used throughout the site to help navigation.

This site is a frame site. All sections are linked from the top navigation bar and also from the site map. Each section contains an index and links to all pages, and, within each section all pages are linked together via arrows, to enable you to 'read' the section as you would read a book.

From the site map you can also access each individual page.

Each section has its own navigation bar, and the section name is highlighted in red.

When linked to a section from the site map, each section will appear under the site map navigation bar. This does not affect what you see.

Lessons, and the instructions (manual) are available online as pdf (acrobat) files.

The 'Lessons' acrobat files are linked from the sections K6 and Yrs 7-10.

The instructions acrobat file is linked from the instructions section (The instructions section is linked directly from the site map and is also linked from other sections (new shade house, managing existing shadehouses) on the site map).

Follow the instruction (click files to print) if you need to download the Acrobat reader from the Internet to be able to access these pdf files.

Acrobat files print as consecutive pages whereas htmls only print as single pages (file / print)

From the links page, web site outside of this site will open in a new browser window. It is possible to navigate the whole of the Internet via this second window, but to return to this site, you must close the window by clicking the x at its top right hand corner.

In some situations, the instructions file on this site also opens in a new browser window. In the same way as above, you must close this window by clicking the x at its top right hand corner to return to the previous page.

NEW USERS.

If you are a 'new user' these hints may be of help, in using this, and other web sites

If a hand appears over an object, it means something will happen - this will probably be a link, but may be an activity (flash). If you click and nothing happens, then it is just an activity and will not lead anywhere.
If text is underlined it is 'linked' to somewhere, (see the hand) and clicking will take you to a new page.
In this web sites, many links are from buttons, photographs and arrows.
If when a hand appears, you hold your cursor still for a few seconds, some text will appear that explains where the link will take you.
When you go to a new page, generally a link is placed in the page to return you to the previous page. You can use the back buttons at the top of your screen to go to previous pages. This can take you back through every move you have made while on the Internet during this session.

If the back button at the top of your screen is greyed out when you move to a new page, the new page will be in a second browser window. This window can be the same size as your screen, or a reduced size. They all work the same way, and to return to the previous page you have to close this second window by clicking the x at its top right hand corner. Make sure you don't click the x of the window you want to be in (the one underneath). If you do, then re-enter the address of the site and begin again. (http://www.rotarnet.com.au/trees_for_survival.

(You can travel round the Internet in second, or even third browser windows and then the back button will be visible and you can travel backwards while within this second window, but the first window will still be open underneath and to return to it, you must close this second window.

To save html pages click file save (top of your screen ) and save them onto your computer. This may not save the graphics, and to save these you need to right click and then save the graphics.(file / print)

To print individual pages click file/print.

On this web site most sections are available as pdf (Acrobat) files for you to save as consecutive pages. Where this is the case there is a 'files to print' button. Please follow the instructions.
