SITING THE SHADEHOUSE

For successful plant growth please site the shadehouse as indicated below:

•

!!! In full sun, or an area that receives a minimum of 6-8 hours of sun
each day.

•

Long side of the shadehouse oriented East-West

•

A watering connection should be within easy reach

•

Vehicles must be able to drive up to the shadehouse for collection of plants (otherwise you will be doing a lot of carrying!!!)

•

Site should be well drained

•

Where possible shadehouse should be fully protected to reduce vandalism

•

Located close to storage area for project materials
.

It is a good idea to mark out a site in advance and keep a careful eye on it - particularly noting where building and tree shadows fall.

If the above specifications cannot be met you may have difficulty in successfully growing your plants. If your shadehouse is not sited correctly you may have to consider either altering or moving the structure.
