PREAMBLE

First determine whether the Shade House is to be erected with posts in ground or mounted on top of a concrete slab.
If mounted on a slab/block, all posts will have to be cut off below the flanges flush with the face

NOTE that the dyna bolts are not used when the posts go into the ground

TOOLS:

15Omm post hole digger, shovel, spirit level, 5 metre measuring tape, hammer, spanners for fitting nuts, pliers with wire cutter, step ladder and hacksaw.

For slab/block mounting; hammer drill and 12mmo masonry
drill for the dyna bolt holes.

1.
Open all bundles and check that you have received all items as noted in the "Packing List"
2.
Sort items into left, right, back, front, sides and roof.
3.
At this point if you are going to erect the shade house on a concrete slab/block, cut off all posts below the flange and flush with its face.
4.
Install the caps on the four (4) corner posts (1)
5.
If mounted in the ground, mark out the post holes and dig as per "Post Hole Detail Sheet.
6.

Using the "Fitting Layout Sheet", assemble each side Left and right) flat on the ground (minus the internal intermediate posts). Note: Tighten the fittings just sufficient to allow the sides to be stood up vertically and placed in the holes or on the slab. Support as necessary

7.
Place the remaining posts, back, front and internal in their holes 0 and 0
8.
Assemble back panel to the sides using the appropriate rails from the Packing List, Post and Rail Layout and Fitting Layout. It may be necessary to slacken the fittings to mount the rails
9.
Assemble the front panel to the sides as for 8. above
10.
Assemble roof top rails 0 and 0
11.
Assemble internal intermediate posts 0.
12.
Install shelf support rails 0 Approx. 600 to 700 from floor for convenient use by pupils.
13.
Tighten all fittings, checking, squaring and levelling up as you proceed.
14.
Check and adjust rail positions, maintaining the nominal 2000min dimension between top and bottom rails, all around.
15.
Block up unit level and with approximately 50mm clearance under bottom rail. Cheek diagonals of total frame, adjust as necessary.
16.
Install shelves, preferably with edge of angle frame pointing down.
17.
Install gate, hinges on left hand. Adjust swing and closing.
18.
All being correct, pour concrete to holes, leave to cure for 24 hours.
19.
Re-check for square
20.
Place shade cloth envelope over frame, draw sides down carefully, firmly and evenly. Adjust fit to frame as required.
21.
Using cable ties supplied, carefully tighten the shade cloth cover, working it evenly down to the bottom rail. Keep the ends of the ties to the inside of the frame.
22.
When all cable ties are satisfactory, stand the roll of 200Omm chainwire vertically at the gate hinge post (left hand). Bottom edge level with the top of the bottom rail. A useful third hand to support the chainwire on the top rail as it is wrapped around, is to make about 20 butchers hooks from stiff wire. Hook over top rail and into the chainwire mesh.
23.
Using the galvanised tie wire, fasten the chainwire to the post. Once around the post, every second diamond and with all wire twists cut off and laid flat inside the frame (this is to avoid anyone catching themselves on it).
24.
Fasten the chainwire around the frame, drawing it firm as you go and supporting it with ties on the top rail, keep the top selvedge under the rail and similarly on top of the bottom rail. Suggest tying every fourth diamond.
25.
Fasten the chainwire around each corner post with the tie wire, three (3)
or four (4) ties on each. All cut ends inside the frame.
26.
When the chainwire is around the frame, adjust its length at the gate opening by tying off to the gate post (right hand) and remove the excess
27.
Check and complete any further tying.
28.
Roof cover: For these steps you will need step ladders for access
29.
Raise the roll of 2400 wide chainwire onto the roof. Align to sides.
Unroll starting at the back. Tie off at the back to the top rail. Stretch out and tie off to front top rail. Tie off to side rails
30.
Check all tying off for completeness.
31.
Install irrigating system to your needs using the "suggested configuration"
diagram as a guide
Installation on top of slab/block all as per previous steps denoted with * and the following:-
15(a). Check diagonals of total frame, adjust as necessary and position on the
slab/blocks. Mark position of dyna bolt holes. Move unit clear of hole
positions. Drill all holes. Fit dyna bolts to holes. Position frame over
dyna bolts and bolt down
Your shade houses should now be ready for use.
