There are several approaches to integrate the Trees for Survival project into school teaching programs using this resource. These approaches include

Topic approach Link all lessons in a KLA group to a 'topic theme'. For instance, the topic using all S & T lessons could be called 'Plants', HSIE called 'our local environment' etc. It should be run over the course of the year with lessons taught at the relevant time according to the 'Annual Planner and Deadlines' timetable

Fit in with existing programs approach
The lessons are suitable for use in many existing programs across several subject areas.
Cross-KLA approach
As described in the Main Learning Outcomes listed at the beginning of each stage, the sets of activities and lessons suit this type of approach very readily and are particularly recommended for Environmental Education.
Environmental Day Approach.
A special day or event (eg Arbor Day, World Environment Day, Land-care Week) can be chosen with students rotating around a series of activities from the lessons.

Interest Groups or Clubs

Many schools have the opportunity to set up Environment Groups, either timetabled or extra-curricular. These groups can use the lessons as part of their Rotary Trees for Survival or other environmental activities.
Development approach

Lessons are identified by Learning Stage , the outcomes listed are from the syllabus documents and are appropriate to that stage . As the stages progress the learning activities are mostly revisited with outcomes tailored to that stage.

More information about the integration strategies is found in the Environmental Education Curriculum Statement K-12 available through your states Department of Education and Training
