You get an address of Rotarnet.com.au/Yourclub. To provide this address we place a simple page in the main body of Rotarnet which contains just your club name and the rotary wheel. This page diverts automatically to your pages which are housed in - a folder called users/9/yourclubnumber. |
What will our address (URL) be?
| . | |||
|
You get an address of Rotarnet.com.au/Yourclub You an an e-mail divert of yourclub@rotarnet.com.au which is 'pointed' to a member's e-mail. The member's e-mail can be changed when necessary. You get a password and user id enabling you to access your space on rotarnet. At this moment there is no limit on space. |
What do we get? | ||
|
|

|
Usually it takes just a few days from Rotary Down Under's receipt of your payment to you receiving your password and user id. We use the club@rotarnet.com.au e-mail divert to send you the information to check that the divert is working. When we 'activate' your 'space' we put a page with an 'awaiting club site' statement. You should delete this and all other files in your space when you load your own site. |
How long will it take to set up our site

You can complete the basic WORD template provided there is a space on the subscription form to request a template - or, please e-mail). We will talk you through any problems - just e-mail (rotarnet@nb.au.com) or phone (02) 4739 4987. You can ask anyone to design your site from the local school through to a club member or a professional design house. When using a non club member or non-Rotarian to design your site, please remember that sooner or later someone in the club will need to update the pages - therefore you must have the program to open them. |
Designing your web site
|
If the home page of your site is not called index.htm please you MUST let us know what it is called. Please also, the home page of your site must be loose in your folder on rotarnet - if you load your site inside a folder then we need to know because the path to the home page will be different. |

If you wish to use your own domain name but remain with Rotarnet, we can arrange to have your chosen domain name 'pointed' to your site on Rotarnet. Thus you can still help Rotary by paying your $70 pa hosting fee to Rotary Down Under, while maintaining your own identity via a domain name of your choice. You can buy your own domain name(go to ina.com.au) or get someone to buy it for you. If you wish we can organise this. It will probably cost less than $70 to get a server to buy the name on your behalf (including the price of the domain name) If you are going to use a pointing service it would make sense to use the same people to buy the domain name that will arrange the pointing. The server we work with to provide this service charges $49 to set up the service. To point the domain name is $49 per year. Cloaked pointing (whereby your domain name remains at the top of the viewer's screen) is $99 per year. If you wish to have 10 e-mails addresses attached to your domain name, the price is a further $100 per year (a total now of $209 per year) - these e-mails are not 'pointed diverts' but are actual e-mail addresses - they could be (say) president@ and secretary @ (etc) and the recipient can be changed each year if required. Other servers may also offer the pointing service. |
We would prefer to have our own domain name.....

When you host your site on rotarnet you automatically get an e-mail divert of yourclub@rotarnet.com.au (the cost is included in the hosting fee). yourclub@rotarnet.com.au is pointed to a member's e-mail address - you can change the member when necessary. We can organise a further emairl redirect if you wish, this will cost $15.00pa per divert |
